The individual space that I designed is very unique and creative. In this virtual house, it is possible to view the room 360 degrees around a fixed point as well as up and down if we wish. My room is a variety of color, texture, and design. My self-sculpture and short video are also incorporated into the space.

I have always been fascinated with big city life and have used it as a model for my individual room. Since many “houses” in large cities are apartments, I chose to base my room on a loft. Since most loft apartments are very simply designed, I thought that this would make an interesting contrast to our wonderfully complex rooms.

The walls of my space will be brick with plenty of space for artwork and other personal touches. The floors will be hardwood to accent how organic the overall design is by bringing nature indoors. The window in the space takes up the maximum allowed area and will give a view from a loft city apartment. The bed in the space is very inviting with a vibrant colorful pattern. My self-portrait appears as a piece of art in the room. My video is in the room as a piece of art as well. Bookshelves appear on a wall of the space with a large chair and ottoman in front of them. A fireplace for cozy reading enjoyment accents this study area. Postcards of the city life accent the idea of an urban setting. Various other works of art also decorate the space and give the feel of an artist’s touch.
