The blur of ignorance
created by the turning wheels and gears
(traditions of Shape and Size
Ethnicity and Sexuality
Wealth and Authority)
Obscures my vision of beauty.
Nevertheless, I grasp for a clearer vision of reality:
A reality that refuses to erase aesthetics of the disturbed and grotesque,
that repudiates only acknowledging the contributions of those in power,
that resists the influence of the machine’s production.
I venture to rise from the hazy mist of assumptions,
to allow the entirety of the world to leave its mark,
That my true Self
may be freed from the captivity of sight.
