Before you assemble text and image in DreamWeaver¨ Web editor you need to create the text and images.

 

WebQuest Process for Text

 

A. Prepare all text in WORD and use the spell and grammar check.

 

B. To check the reading level for your WebQuest or other handouts that you produce for your future students use WordÕs reading level gauge. HereÕs how you do this.

 

Display readability statistics

 

1.    On the Word menu, click Preferences, and then click Spelling and Grammar.

 

2. Select the Check grammar with spelling check box.

 

3.    Select the Show readability statistics check box, and then click OK.

 

4. On the Tools menu, click Spelling and Grammar.

 

WebQuest is spelled like this in italics, one word, with the Q capitalized. ItÕs a copyrighted concept.


WebQuest Process for Images

 

A. Prepare all images in PhotoShop. ÒSave for WebÓ (jpg. or .gif to open in under 20 seconds. Label all images with 7 letters or less and lowercase, e.g., Òsand.jpgÓÑkeep extension such as .jpg or .gif).

 

B. You may scan objects, use a digital camera, draw, or paint the images, or create images or text as image in PS.

 

C. Consider the background imageÑa color, a texture? Make a small image that will be ÒtiledÓ (repeated) without seam lines between.

 

D. Make sure all are original or you have copyright permission that is posted with permission in the credits area. Also either copyright your WebQuest and state in credits who has created the images, or allow it to be shared with the Creative Commons symbol (in that any part can be used).

 

E. If you need an image that is not copyright free make a link to where it resides on another site.
