Summer 2000 Update

From the CSTAE Webmaker: Karen Keifer-Boyd

The Art Department at Texas Tech University has dedicated computer server space to the Caucus on Social Theory & Art Education

Please send content or website URL addresses to me via email and/or as email attachments. I will place your art, text and/or make a link to your site.

Members at the CSTAE annual business meeting in New Orleans in 1997 requested specific items for a CSTAE website. Below is a list of the items for the website. Please contribute to any area and/or suggest other areas that you will prepare for the website:

1. Place the table of contents and editorials of past JSTAE (the Caucus journal) on the website. (Vol. 14, 15/16, & 17 on web--please send via email the TOC and editorials from other issues if you have them or send them on a disk to me.)

2. The newsletter editor sends the newsletter in digital form to the webmaker to place on the web. (Three newsletters are on the CSTAE website beginning since 1998. Shirley Hayes Yokley-Witzel has volunteered to do this in 2000 and 2001.)

3. Create links to the National (completed) and affiliate/issue group sites (most connected). If they don't have sites then make a link to a description. (Please volunteer to develop descriptions and/or to send the affiliate's URLs to Karen.)

4. Set up and keep a gallery current of work by members. On-going networking is needed so that the images change and all who want to be represented will be on the website. (Send gif or jpeg images as email attachments or send links to your art on the Internet.)

5. Links to CSTAE member's sites. (Please send me an email with your URL link!)

6. Links to socially/politically engaged art sites. (Please volunteer to develop this.)

7. Information about the CSTAE, its journal, libraries, and where you can find the journal. (completed)

8. Members asked that the website be self-critical and have "links as a point of debate." (Please volunteer to develop this.)
